Skovtårnet – Camp Adventure Forest tower

Say what you want about Danes but when it comes to architecture they are just the best. In the middle of a forest in southern Zealand is the fabulous “Forest Tower”. An approximately 50 meter high tower with fantastic views from the top.

As an hourglass-shaped tower, Skovtårnet is about an hour’s drive south of Copenhagen or as in my case Malmö. Just take the motorway south towards Gedser and Rødby. At the exit towards Næstved, turn right and after only a few hundred meters you arrive at the tower.

It is not free to visit and the best thing is to buy a ticket for both the tower and parking from Camp Adventures’ website. So you are ready when you arrive. The price for the tower is DKK125 (or DKK150 if you book the same day). Parking costs DKK50. When you get there, just drive in without control. However, you need to have paid to get out. There is a reader who reads the QR code you get when you pay for the parking so the barrier opens when you want out. In short, buy tickets in advance to avoid queues and the hassle of doing it on-site.

The exit from the motorway is the same as if you were visiting BonBon Land. BonBon Land is just a short distance from the Tower so it is good to combine both destinations. I can recommend both of them.

I have to say that the tower is really cool to visit. There were quite a lot of people there today but it flowed really well. The whole tour is very well organized so just walk on. Walking up the tower is not difficult at all. Strollers and wheelchairs also work well. Proper slope so it is very easy access for everybody. From young to old. At the top you find wonderful views of southern Zealand. If you have a camera with you, the tower offers good photo spots all the way up. There are infinite possibilities of stunning pictures to take.

If you get hungry, there is food to buy. Hamburgers and other fast food. Prices around DKK 100.

If you are in and around southern Zealand, take the opportunity to visit Tornet. It’s worth the money. So cool.
